Hello, I have searched around a lot for this and can’t seem to come up with a clear answer. My question is - are drum track lanes included in “mute groups” with external tracks?
For example: Lets say my track 1 is a drum track that currently has hi hats muted on lane 5. My track 3 is a synth lead that is also currently muted. While looking at the drum track on track 1, can I hold the mute button and select the hi hats on lane 5 + the track 3 and release mute to get a simultaneous unmute (exactly how it works to unmute groups of tracks?)
Additional question about muting multiple drum lanes: can you toggle a mute of multiple drum lanes to take effect at the release of the mute button the same way a track group mute works? I’ve seen it done differently, but I would like the idea of keeping the button pressed while my other hand performs and aligns at the same timing.
Thanks!
Hi,
No, they are not.
Technically, there isn’t a “mute lane” feature. It’s just “row selection” + “mute events”. If you have a couple of events already muted, you’ll find “MUTE+ROW” actually un-mutes these, on top of muting all others.
Several users have expressed their desire for this “mute lane” feature, for your use case, but also to avoid modifying events, or to avoid unmuting some events.
Frankly, it isn’t our top priority, but I agree that it’d be nice to have.

Thank you for the reply! Yes please consider this. After spending a very long time with Elektron, mutes have become the immediate way I approach something like this. A dynamic way of muting is also very essential for my general approach to improvising. So when moving to something like the Hapax I would like to be able to take that style of working that I am used to, but also gain all of the Hapax benefits. I think many people who come from the Elektron will also very much appreciate this.
