Hello,
I don’t use algo/generators that much but do you guys think it would be a cool addition?

Yes please!
Look at Sting2 for inspiration.
Ain’t a TB303 a Mono with step sequencing. Already there no?
yes but they are a bastard to sequence in the box. i’ve always programmed my 303 patterns directly into Hapax/Deluge and trigger my 303 notes via MIDI. also an Algo might be a better/more focused way of generating random patterns like the OG 303 does v. the Randomize Algo, which I never found quite as useful
yea, but also accents and slides and the 303’s legato behavior are all things that are distinct considerations for a 303 sequence
Why not just use the step sequencer function? It has rests, ties and legato already. Then use automation for the accented steps
nothing wrong with that method at all but some of the secret sauce in the og 303 was the random pattern generator. it can be hard to make a pattern sound truly random intentnionally
There was no random pattern generator in the 303, just seemingly random garbage when removing the batteries too long. Really not as magic as some claim it to be.. big chance of weird 1 step or invalid patterns.
The real strength in the 303 seq is the separation of pitch and timing info, it really works well for the creative process
It’s not that hard, just pick a key, go into the step-rec mode and close your eyes and hit random notes. Voila
