I didn’t say you cannot construct a live perform on the hapax, you clearly can !
what I said is…
it would be a pattern/clip based workflow, using the song structure.
this is the features that are advertised for the Hapax… are in the manual, are shown in all review videos etc.
there is no linear timeline workflow in the hapax, nor was it ever advertised as a feature, or possible feature…
so this is what available, which is I think what the OP wanted to know about…
then I said in my opinion … that
a linear timeline workflow would not be very comfortable on the Hapax.
you can already have long patterns, that is pretty much what a timeline would look like.
and I find the longer the pattern, the more difficult it is on the small screens to visualise where you are.
you may disagree… thats fine… is only my opinion.
of course, we could imagine a new song mode that was based around perhaps putting patterns on a timeline, rather than the current ‘sequencer style’ song mode - I believe deluge has something like this.
though its pretty radical change to Hapax, so probably quite a bit of work.
or perhaps, there are some ways to make it easier to work with longer patterns? (e.g. markers)
you are, of course, welcome to submit your ideas as feature requests via the contact form.
as I say, no ones view really matters here, including my own, they are just discussion points… which perhaps can help frame ideas, or let others know what is possible currently… its a community forum.
its the Squarp devs that will decide which feature requests they will prioritise and work on, due to lots of factors, demand, tech feasibility , amount of dev effort etc etc.
