Use Hapax to also control some stuff in ableton

I want to use my hapax as main “daw” still but be albe to for exemple controll drum rack from ableton so I can use samples. But I dont get it to work for some reason. Can anybody explain in a easy way how to do that. My hapax is connected to computer trough USB. And sound is routed to my Tascam model 12 from computer.

make sure your midi channels line up! make sure your track is set to the right output buss! can you tell if midi is making it to ableton? can you hear something when you use onscreen keyboard?

Well yeah I tried so much stuff yesterday that I by chance should have got it to work somewhat but nothing. When I come home I can take some pictures, but I never understanded what USB Host/USB Device meant. But what I could see the Hapax never did any midisignal to ableton so i guess there is some wrong on the midi communication

that sounds like you need to understand basic live configuration. there are plenty of videos on youtube! also a manual. google searches manuals for you! theres also a table of contents!. just spend some time learning live. follow your intuition! try the other midi buss if it seems wrong. live has a little indicator of midi activity on the upper right side of the screen.

This is picture of the settings. Still no success. No midi action when I play the grid.

so what does the midi activity indicator indicate? activity?

No. No activity. If I play on computer keyboard, then activity but not from the hapax… Thinking about just install everything from new or something…

try another usb cable or make sure its plugged in all the way. make sure your track is set to the right buss and channel. make sure your track isnt muted. make sure there is a pattern playing. make sure your midi fx arent preventing midi notes from being sent. im trying to think what else could possibly be preventing you from having an amazing hapax experience. what shape is the usb plugged to the hapax?

restart everything. start hapax before the computer.

where it says ‘in’ and ‘auto’ on your track settings, try ‘in’

you are sending clock to ableton?

what does 1337 mean?
