# Step + Y sometimes doesn't generate

On my Hermod+, sometimes pressing Step+Y doesn’t generate new values. Does anyone else have this problem? Sometimes it works, but a few seconds later, Step+Y does nothing. Same for Step+X to clear.

I just upgraded the firmware, so it’s not that.

Hi @kreppart,

I suspect a finger timing issue :). Step+X only clears once STEP has been held for a moment (until the analyzer shows up), so a quick Step+X does nothing. Maybe if you keep STEP held until you’ve released X or Y it solves your issue ?
