Pad color variances

Are color variances normal with low saturation on the pad LEDs?

All “white” notes are set to 1% Hue, 1% Saturation, and 14% Lightness, except for C whose settings are in image 1.

When in the Settings, the colors looks the same–or close enough (image 2)

But when returning to the Live mode, the colors vary quite a bit. In this photo, none are being played but some appear reddish, some close to white and others almost peach. It doesn’t seem to follow a pattern either. The lowest D is pink, the next up almost white.

Are there just inherent variances in color when minimizing saturation and lightness on multi-color LEDs? I don’t notice these variances with higher saturation levels

I asked squarp about this and it seems that the leds simply aren’t very consistent so you cannot expect them to accurately show colors.

This is how my pads looked when trying to use more subtile differences in colors:

Thanks. I figured it was just an LED limitation but good to hear my suspicion confirmed. Ah well, I guess I’ll find another color scheme that doesn’t have the variances.
