Midi CC in through USB?

Hello,

I’m trying to connect an Intech Grid PO-16 midi controller to the Hapax (it’s basically just 16 pots with a USB-C port). I’ve seen in a video that you can definitely take a controller’s MIDI input CCs and use them within the Hapax, but in that video the CCs came from an actual 5 pin MIDI cable. Here I’m trying to make it work through the USB host connection, and while the Intech Grid lights up, the Hapax doesn’t seem to detect any incoming midi CC’s through the MIDI monitor.

Is what I’m trying to do impossible? should i get something to translate usb-C into an actual midi port?

I use CCs over USB all the time using Linnstrument’s CC messages.

You may just need to enable MIDI THRU in Settings

Or you can enable MIDI input and route as needed. It just depends what you are controlling, etc.
