That thingie also translates Mackie Control to MMC messages which might be useful to some. With a little extra electronics it can also mimic Pedal actions on Pyramid, allowing externally controlled Start/Stop/Rec while keeping Pyramid as clock master.
Like all my three Roland synths, the XV has a huge address map for things that can be manipulated with SysEx, supporting CC -> SysEx would be pretty easy and something to do once I find an actual need for it…
