hello… this is the message in Hapax: “error syntax line 2”. All the files on the sd card are .txt. I have copied from what is provided here for different instruments, and pasted in TextEdit. I can see the list of instrument def, but I will get the error when I attempt loading one… The only one working is an empty example template…
The error roughly means the file contents is unreadable by the hapax. Line 2 would mean theres something it doesnt like on the second line.
Pop the card in your pc, open the text file and look over it, check the original file you copy pasted for formatting against what you have. Look for what’s different in the file it does read.
Im a developer, im used to working out syntax errors 
but i guess its not an everyday thing. Make sure its saved as a basic text file, notepad in windows saves them fine. VSCode might correct or highlight any possble issues, or just make it easier to read.

Thanks for input… I have several instruments to set up in hapax & I noticed the errors are different from one to another of provided files. I’m going to try build one of them from scratch with the clean one & other bits… I thought I’d rather advance sound than computing :).
