# :\[Hermod+ OS 3.0\] failure: "ERROR 54 SETTING\_EDIT\_PAGE.CPP" when saving Clock out via USB

**Hi everyone,**

**I’m encountering a crash on my new Hermod+ running the new OS 3.0 firmware and wanted to see if anyone else has run into this or knows a workaround.**

**Module: Squarp Hermod+**

**Firmware: OS 3.0**

**Error Screen: ⁠ERROR 54⁠ | ⁠SETTING\_EDIT\_PAGE.CPP⁠**

**Steps to Reproduce**

**1. Open the global Settings menu.**

**2. Set the global routing to output MIDI / Clock via USB (Host or Device).**

**3. Scroll to and press SAVE SETTINGS.**

**4. Instead of saving successfully, the module displays a pop-up error: ⁠ERROR 54 SETTING\_EDIT\_PAGE.CPP⁠, and the configuration cannot be saved.**

**Details**

**The module does not hard-freeze or crash, but it completely prevents writing this specific setting to memory.**

**Saving changes to other global parameters works as expected—the error only appears when trying to save with USB MIDI output enabled.**

**Has anyone encountered this issue on OS 3.0, or found a way to save USB MIDI global routing without triggering this error?**

Hi,

Thanks for your report, it’s a known bug, nothing to do with USB actually. Fixed in the upcoming 3.1.

Workaround for now: exit Settings, come back in, go straight to SAVE SETTINGS and press it, without touching BPM or PLAY in between. This should do the trick for now.
