After years of using my Pyramid Mk3, I finally ‘upgraded’ to the Hapax. When put both devices in the exact same MIDI setup (MIDI A OUT > FPI Multiclock IN > Loopy Pro iPad Pro M1), I notice the BPM of the Hapax fluctuates -0.1 +0.1 BPM while the Pyramid is ROCK solid all the time. Why is this now 10 year old device better in this regard?
Both are rock solid, its just that the clocks are interpreted differently. If all devices internal clocks would be the exact same we wouldn’t need to send midi clock but simply send start and stop messages.
Fair enough… guess I’m having problems letting go my beloved Pyramid lol
