I have already received a reply from Squarp Support:
‘Thanks a lot for your pictures! I confirm that your display is functioning as expected. The screen exhibits slight variations in brightness from line to line due to grayscale level differences. When a line contains a higher number of bright (white) pixels, it may appear slightly dimmer. This is a normal characteristic of our OLED displays and does not indicate a defect.’
So it’s normal, and in my opinion, the only thing where Hapax doesn’t get full marks.
I was a little confused because the forum entry “Hapax unboxing photos and initial thoughts“ in the “Screens” section says the following:
‘Also, there’s a little bit of banding in the photos which is totally not there in person.’
Ultimately, however, this sequencer is probably the last suit I will ever own—I have had others before, but none of them fit perfectly.
