Auto Release Transport When Syned to DAW Via CV?

Direct Pre-FX Routing via a Secondary Audio Track

If you are generating the pulse sync using Ableton’s CV Tools Pack (e.g., CV Clock Out) and want to protect it from Solo actions: [1]

  1. Create a blank Audio Track (Track 2) to act as your un-mutable hardware router.
  2. Set the Audio From dropdown on Track 2 to your original pulse track (Track 1).
  3. Directly beneath that dropdown, change the tap point from “Post Mixer” to Pre FX or Post FX.
  4. Set Track 2’s Monitor to In.
  5. Set Track 2’s Audio To to your physical external audio output.
  6. Why this works: Tapping a track Pre FX pulls the audio directly from the clip level before it hits the track’s volume fader, mute switch, or solo path. Even if you hit “Solo” on an entirely different track, the hardwired connection between Track 1 and Track 2 remains active
