ok, @CreepyPants , I did the same test as you
Bitwig Studio worked ok, I could edit notes, change length of notes and all was ok,
However, Logic Pro X and Cubase had the same issue that you described, an empty pattern on pattern 1, and then the other (correct) patterns follow it.
@squarpadmin , Ive uploaded a test (squarp pyramid) project thats been edit in Cubase and Logic, perhaps you could use these to debug why the Pyramid is adding an extra pattern. (pattern 1) to each track!?
For both of these the Type 1 is valid , since Bitwig studio (and each other) load them midi file up, without the ‘extra’ dummy ‘pattern’
so i did a bit more with bitwig, to see how ‘stable it was’, as i say changing the notes, include duration, position and size seemed ok.
however this is one, I think pretty big limitation…
if you extend the track then this does not get reflected when you load back into the pyramid
SO… these were all one bar patterns, but in Bitwig i extended the first tracks to 8 bars, and the second track to 2 bars. but when I load on the Pyramid , it shows them as one bar still
(this would be pretty limiting if we cannot change the length of the tracks)
is this expected behaviour @squarpadmin?
if not here is my edit test project from Bitwig, bitwig
(again, I validated the midi files by reloading into a DAW , and seeing they are the expected length 8 and 2 bars respectively)
if it is expected, is there any chance of changing such that the pattern/track extends to the size of the midi track?!
