I don’t know if this is a bug or not…
I was just experimenting with the transpose track for the first time, and found out it doesn’t work well with the longer sustained notes:
- create a track and create or record live a note (or triad / chord) of ± one measure long
- press play
now the notes play well sustained, exactly as long as they were created / recorded
- now set the track to transposable (via 2nd)
- create a master transpose track
- play notes on an external midi keyboard routed to the master transpose track
now the sustain of the notes is being cut off until the next loop!!
That’s not very useful if you ask me, especially in combination with ARP fx…
also, it seems to be very limited to have only one master transpose track…
That means you can’t create multiple transposable tracks and transpose them live differently
I’m seeing it more like “changing the root of a sequence live” versus “transposing a whole song / sequence” or, in other words, transposing selected tracks of a sequence in the same way / amount…
It really would be nice if, aside from the original MASTER transpose track, there’s also an option for multiple ‘transpose’ tracks so that you can choose the destination tracks.
For example: track output = TT06 = transpose track with track 6 as destination.
Now you can record your transpositions (in other words: the different roots of the sequence of track 6) in live mode for example, or program them in step mode.
For example: track output = MTT = Master Transpose Track (like it exists now, for those who still want to be able to transpose a whole sequence of transposable tracks).
Also now, when the setting “assign note to” “master transpose” function is active, the way you input notes live is changed for all tracks and not only for the few transposable tracks. You can’t record notes live anymore when this setting is on!
It’s still a little bit frustrating that very cool functions of the pyramid are limited by the way MIDI input is handled… Again, MIDI input settings on the Pyramid are too rigid and it would be nice if we could set things up on a track per track basis and not on a single project basis.
But, first the bugs
