hmmm… this is less than ideal.
I use the pyramid with lots of different synths and change the setup often to suit the project at hand.
I can see how the def files would be useful as-is for someone with a setup that was fixed, but for an experimenter like myself, it is pretty tedious to go in and have to edit or swap out a text file every time I start a track using different synths. The efficiency of multitimbral synths is lost in this system, and the fixed channels makes setup a pain.
I don’t understand why the def file couldn’t just exclude the midi channel and have that be set in the normal midi channel location. Or perhaps if midi channel is entered as “x” instead of 1-16, then it allows manual channel selection.
I love the pyramid because of its flexibility and power. but little things like this truly make a big difference. workflow, workflow, workflow… Less time setting up, more time making music.
